Start-up Sunday Week 1 - Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway!

Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway - Start-up Sunday

I can't start my own business, I have no money!

I have no time.

My family would laugh at me.

People like me just don't run businesses.

I'm scared, I have no business skills.

I have always been bad at maths, how could I possibly keep records.

No one would want to buy what I make.

I will be a failure.

But you need to know about taxes and I know nothing.

I would need a business plan and I just don't know where to start.

Do any of the statements above sound familiar to you? Thought so. Here, at Creation Collaboration, we really have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.

Over the next 8 weeks, we will be taking you through such important topics as writing a business plan, building a brand, networking and, most importantly and the thing that seems to daunt most prospective business owners, taxes.

We have all been in the position of starting out, we have felt and faced the fear of the unknown, we would like to give you the benefit of our experience start ups or a more experienced trader we hope you will find our guide helpful and useful.

  1. This is a fab idea, and looks to cover everything people first starting out will be thinking/have to consider etc.
With regards the fear factor, sometimes you just have to say " f*ck it " and go for it!!

  2. I wish I had been able to read these posts when I was starting! It is probably one of the scariest things I have done starting my own business. However, it is one of the most amazing and I wish I had done it sooner! It is a learning curve, however, there is plenty of help out there its just a case of knowing where to find it. Looking forward to the posts. Elissa

  7. Excellent outline. You've broken down the whole shabang into really easy to grasp increments. Its great that you start with "feel the fear and do it anyway®" That book by Susan Jeffers has helped me concur so many little fears in my life. But its applicable to the big life-changing ones as well. Can't wait to see Sunday's post.
